Gems - Moldavite

Moldavite is a lesser-known gem that is unique for two reasons, and many others besides; first off it’s the only gem that is believed to come from space, is not of this Earth; and second, unlike most extraterrestrial rocks which are a dirty black or brown colour, Moldavite is a translucent green – a little like kryptonite from the Superman stories, though Moldavite is thought to have nothing but positive effects on all those that come into contact with it. It has being described as having the ability to ignite the fire in you, producing energy, and being able to cure high blood pressure and a bad heart, plus it is said to calm nerves and tension. The gem is also unusual in that it can only be found in a certain region of the Czech Republic; it is thought that a large meteorite must have came to Earth around 15 million years ago, melted on contact with the atmosphere, or on impact, and resulted in the scattering of Moldavite throughout a little area of the Czech Republic, the Moldau Valley, in Eastern Europe.

The Moldavite gem comes in differing types of aerodynamic shapes and varying shades of green with complex textures. Due to its uniqueness (being only found in one place) it is an extremely rare gem; Moldavite is classified a tektite, which means it is made from molten material; the glassy qualities and unusual shapes that make up tektites strongly suggest to scientists that they are from other worlds, because their molten roundness are more than likely the result of melting while travelling at high speeds through our atmosphere. It is also likely that they are bits of debris from an exploded planet or planets that have become meteorites and, after floating through the vacuum of space, are subsequently caught in our gravity and pulled down to earth. The elements that make up Moldavite are silica 80%; aluminium 10%; with quantities of potassium, iron, and other metallic oxides making up the rest. Many of the Moldavite samples contain bubbles with an extremely high vacuum, the same air pressure at around 13 miles (20km) above sea level, more evidence that suggests they were formed high up in the sky before hitting the ground.

For practical purposes, using it as a healing gem, Moldavite is said to speed up the ejection of toxins from the body when used in conjunction with any type of healing practice, it is also believed to alleviate anxieties and release trapped emotions and connect one to the universe. People have reported amazing sensations of energy merely by holding Moldavite; some believe Moldavite is made from both outer space materials and Earth materials as the two impacted together in the melting process, thus giving it a unique healing vibration attuned to both life on Earth and whichever planet it originated from; imparting healing while instilling cosmic thoughts that transgress our physical selves, allowing us to realize there is something much bigger happening than which we see before us. Some people have said that the effects of Moldavite, when worn as a pendant or ring for instance, are so energizing that they have to take it off and only use it when they feel a need to be boosted physically and spiritually.

To experience Moldavite is said to be a truly magical experience; like it’s much more than just a physical substance, but more a nexus or portal to a higher self or dimension.
